Who can be an escort?

If we approach the question ‘who can be an escort?’ from legal point of view than it has to be said that every female, male, shemale, ladyboy, transgender (TS, TV), Domina person who is over 18 can be an escort, but only in the countries where the local legislation allows it. Regardless of the fact that escorts are not prostitutes, the law regulating prostitution unfortunately treats them as prostitutes. If we take Sweden as a model, according to the 1999 Swedish model, the above persons, that is, escorts can legally take employment in the sex industry.

The legal point of view to approach the issue is only one side. There is another side of the profession, in our case, the approach from professional point of view, since it is not only the law that has to be corresponded, but also the profession itself has requirements. Employees have to be competent in carrying out escort service, just like in any other profession, because the client always requires being well-serviced by the escort during the time he paid.

The escort trade is not just about having a date with a client, and something will happen, if it will at all, but something more and this is effective communication. To be able to render a meaningful and enjoyable communication experience for the client, an escort is supposed to have high intelligence. Furthermore, an escort has to travel to a destination country where the escort industry operates legally, and then she has to arrange an accommodation where she is going to live during her terminus, has to get used to the local customs and get the hang of living in the foreign country and finally she has to advertise herself to find customers. Well, here there are a lot of individual competencies and neatness needed.

The entry into the escort profession is an open door for every prospective sex worker. There is virtually no official / unofficial authority that would control the trade and decide who can become an escort on the basis of personal qualities and competencies. This is one of the reasons why the quality of escorts has declined over the last decades or over the centuries, as those sex employees could get into the trade who are partly or completely inadequate for the profession.

Moreover, if we want to see who escorts are and who can be an escort in more complexity, then I have to say that anyone can be an escort. And this must be understood in the strict sense. It is primarily the criminal organizations in relation with human traffickers that is responsible for filling all the small segments of the sex market. This is how young girls and poor, vulnerable women are forced to get in the escort trade.
