I often use my mobile browser when I visit this site. With right click disabled I can't use my phones normal copy&paste functions as even long-click events in any kind of input field are hijacked. This is very annoying and significantly degrades the user experience.
When using a normal browser, I can use keyboard shortcuts to do copy/paste - but if I want to write anything I no longer have access to spelling suggestions using right click on a red-line marked misspelled word that I'm used to having pretty much everywhere else on the web.
As a non native english speaker I depend on the suggestions quite a lot as the english language is not always consistent, "Worcester sauce" - FFS - how I am supposed to spell that correctly without my spelling suggestions??
And to disable right-click on the site really doesn't accomplish anything. Even the worst of n00bs can visit the chrome store and have the right click meny back in less than 3 minutes.
Not even if you converted your site into a single page javascript application would you stop me or anyone else from accessing whatever we would like to. I know how to inspect any DOM using selenium, I can use a filtering proxy to download any media displayed or rewrite any javascript code sent to the browser, I can setup my own top-level CA and add the newly created ssl authority certificate to my browser, proxy or selenium-setup and afterwards do man-in-the-middle decryption of all SSL-encrypted connections without any possibilities of detection from inside the browser or javascript code.
If you have made information publicly available on the web - then you must get used to the idea that it is just that - publicly available.
Any attempts to change that undeniable fact is likely to only result in a degraded user experience and associated irritation/displeased users, while the information still remains just as public.
So please, enable right click and let me use copy/paste on my mobile phone and spelling suggestions in my normal browser.
