Of 193 escorts tested in London 1989-1991, 27 (14%) had these STDs:

Gonorrhea 9 (5%), chlamydia 12 (6%), thrichomonas 7 (4%), genital herpes 4 (2%), HIV 2 (1%).

Infection was not associated with number of partners, but with rate of condom use. More infections when the women had non-paying sexual partners who didn't use condoms.

A study of 73 Lithuanian street prostitutes, 2001.

Almost all abused alcohol. 18 (25%) injected drugs. 45% had one or more children. Condoms were not used regularly.

All except one had STDs: 8 had syphilis (13%) and 10 (16%) had scars from a syphilis infection. No HIV.

In 2011, 2704 FSWs (female sex workers) made 8,411 visits to UK clinics. The clinics had different procedures, 10% did not have STD tests ready. Still, a study of the visits recorded this:

2.9% had chlamydia, 0.8% had gonorrhea. 6.2% of Brazilian escorts had HIV.

Foreign escorts had better health than UK-born escorts. I'm guessing because the UK-born ones are more likely to have boyfriends who don't use a condom, during the same time the escorts are working. At least two other studies showed that STDs are not associated with number of partners but with rate of condom use. Most of the time non-paying partners (boyfriends) are the ones who don't use condoms regularly. Foreign-born escorts could have the same conditions with boyfriends back home, but get tested before they start visiting other countries, and get treated before they leave. Or stay home in the few cases of HIV.

Malaysia, 1994.

A total of 84 female and 91 male patients were interviewed and tested for HIV infection. 41.7% of the women reported working as prostitutes, o
