Occasional 503 errors reported during the last few days

Over the last few days I've seen some "Service Temporarily Unavailable ---- nginx"pages every now and then, they have aren't very common and always resolve themselves with a reload.
The frequency of the errors may be increasing, or perhaps that's only my paranoia after having worked in operations for some years.
