4.3.2. Sexual paraphilias

Carlos · · 0

Some sexual paraphilias (sexual perversions) that were dangerous to societies and individuals used to be taboos and crimes at the early stages of human society. Some paraphilias denote dangerous sexual activity that can cause serious illnesses, such as sexual attraction to the dead, necrophilia, or zoophilia, the sexual attraction to animals, although the latter's perception has changed much in Western societies lately. It has happened nowadays that sexual interaction between humans and animals is not so much condemned by society, and among the available sexual services bestiality has turned up, and even websites and organizations have been established to promote zoophilia.  Zoophiles argue that if the animal enjoys the sexual act, why bestiality should be punished and banned, although in most beastly cases, animals are treated only as sexual objects, like women, and treated as prostitutes. The most infamous case is that of an unfortunate orang-utan that was dressed and made-up as a woman somewhere in Indonesia and used by sex clients.
Yet, of all sexual paraphilias the most serious social crime is paedophilia, the perverted sexual attraction to children. Naturally, if society feels that its survival is at risk due to some deviant behaviour, it will heavily sanction and punish that activity. Because sexual exploitation of minors fundamentally endangers society by preventing abused thus traumatic individuals from becoming a healthy and useful member of society, paedophilia is severely punished in Western societies (except for members of royal families committing it, such as the case turned out by Jeffrey Epstein, who used to supply politicians and royal families with under age sex-workers ), whereas in the Middle East or Asia, where sex before puberty is not always uncommon. It should be noted, however, that in an ultra-liberal, human rights fundamentalist Western political environment, paedophiles would like their right to happiness to be recognized like that of homosexuals and lesbians.
