5. Sexual deviancies regarded as not crime

Carlos · · 0

Deviance is basically a form of behaviour that violates norms accepted by most of the community or society, and in case of their violation sanctions are inflicted. In other words, deviance is a sort of perpetration of crime that is controlled by the community or society through legal means. However, there are also intentional or inevitable violations of norms that are not necessarily sanctioned for some reason. The most typical of these reasons is that since a deviant behaviour does not make harm to anyone, perhaps except for the perpetrator, or the deviance is caused by some psychological disorder that does not cause harm to society, the majority tend to turn a blind eye to the unusual behaviour.
Deviance is rather likely to manifest in sexual behaviour and habits, so it is not surprising that sex workers, prostitutes, and escorts quite frequently encounter abnormal sexual practices in their sex work. Mostly this is the reason why sex clients tend to visit escorts and escort prostitutes, and since they find no partner for their abnormal sexual desires or have to hide it from their spouse or partner, or they might express their sexual needs but they won’t be satisfied because of the partner’s different sexual taste or intolerance, they have to find solution somewhere else. Because of this, these sex-clients quite often end up with sex workers, where they get sexual tolerance and satisfaction for a suitable amount of money.
The sexual deviancies sanctioned by society have already been discussed in the chapter on Sexually rooted social crimes, however, there are many cases of sexual paraphilias that society does not really regard as sin, ergo does not sanction them, but the majority of people view it as a different sexual behaviour. In fact, there are lighter intensity paraphilias that have a direct beneficial effect on sexual performance, thinking of a variety of sexual fetishes, such as the most popular one, the worship of foot, ankle and toes, which can intensify sexual drive. Because there are so many harmless sexual paraphilias, we will only mention a few that escorts and prostitutes encounter daily in the course of their sexual services.
